So what is a ketogenic diet? According to Wikipedia, a ketogenic diet essentially means that a person eats limited amounts of carbohydrates and fat. In other words, they’re restricting the amount of protein they are eating per day. When you follow such a diet, you’ll slowly reach the point of ketosis, though not really. It happens by burning all of your stored glycogen and making sure the body is going through the process of breaking down those stored sugars as well. Once the conversion is complete, your body goes from this to a very fast metabolism. As soon as the person becomes keto, they immediately turn into a fat-adapted animal and lose the ability to digest food. Then the keto diet is just another thing that makes us lazy.
But how does keto diet work? Well, when our body reaches a certain state of ketosis, the body starts to break down more sugars than we used to, so the body gets rid of the excess sugar molecules to form ketones. That’s why once people start losing weight, they become ketogenic. Also, as long as you’re following such a diet, there’ll never be any symptoms of ketoacidosis like headaches or nausea.
